Samruddhi Foundation is a secular and non-profit trust created by a group of people with a dream of making this world a better place to live.

Our mission is to build capacities of individuals and groups deprived of resources required for leading empowered lives. Samruddhi Foundation functions as a centre for knowledge building, training and dissemination of information on issues of equity, social justice, and sustainable development with stakeholders such as communities, civil society/advocacy groups and policy makers.

OUR FOCUS

  • Undertaking and supporting action based participatory research studies in such areas as women's empowerment, child rights, inclusive education,entitlements of marginalized groups and ecologically sustainable livelihoods.
  • Serving as a Nodal Centre for documentation, publication and consultancy on social development themes.
  • Designing and imparting training programmes on development issues for members of state institutions, civil society groups, people’s representatives, educational institutions and youth.

  • Organizing guided educational tours to regions and communities known for initiatives for biodiversity conservation, traditional health care practices, indigenous knowledge mapping and protection of local cultures.

  • Conducting ‘Understanding India’ programmes for visiting international groups through class room sessions, internships and field trips.

  • Working with government schools in enhancing their infrastructural and achedemic capabilities.
  • Conducting Workshops on Research Methodology and Academic Writing for students and faculty and Organizing Invited Lectures.
  • Building research capacities of young research scholars and faculty by organizing training programmes in research concepts and processes, use of statistical and computer based applications and methodologies in humanities and social science research.
  • Creating a forum for sharing research outputs and research concerns and identifying new research areas.
  • Undertaking sponsored research projects, training field support staff and offering consultation and guidance to project teams.
  • Creating data bank on social development themes from a multi disciplinary perspective.
  • Organizing lectures by experts in various fields with a special focus on themes relating to social development.

  • Three-day State Level Workshop on “Research Writing in Social Sciences” in collaboration with Syagale Shivarudramma Charitable Social and Educational Trust and Centre for Research in Rural and Tribal Studies, Mysore from June10-12, 2022.

  • Eleven-Day Workshop for "Research Students in Social Science Disciplines in Kannada" " in collaboration with the Department of Studies and Research in Sociology, Kuvempu University, Shivamogga-July 1-11, 2021 in the Virtual Mode.

  • Seven Day Workshop for "Research Guides in Social Science Disciplines in Kannada" with the Centre for Women’s Studies, Bangalore University, Bangalore-May 15-June 5, 2021 in the Virtual Mode.

  • Dr.R.Indira and Dr.Shanthi G conducted a Gender Sensitization Programme on March 2 & 3, 2020 for staff of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Kalpakkam on the invitation of the BARC Facilities.

  • Samruddhi collaborated with the Alumni Association of the Department of Sociology, University of Mysore and the Centre for Research in Rural and Tribal Development, Mysore in the organization of a Workshop on Ethical Issues in Social Science Research at Mysore on January 05, 2020.
